Another of the home remedies for jetlag consists of taking melatonin. Melatonin is a hormone secreted by the pineal gland in the brain. Its job is to control the body’s circadian rhythm. That is our internal clock that helps us to know when to sleep and when to wake. Melatonin is released by the amount of light there is, when it is dark it is stimulated into release in the body. Too much light means not enough melatonin released and our cycles get interrupted. Taking a melatonin supplement helps the body adjust more quickly to the changes in surroundings.

Home Remedy for Jetlag – Chamomilla and Others

The last of the home remedies for jetlag to be discussed here is the use of homeopathic remedies. These are small vials of tiny pellets made from minute dosages of natural substances. The most popular in use today contains small almost un-detectable amounts of arnica Montana, nellis perennis, chamomilla, Ipecacuanha and lycopodium. Be aware that these substances in any larger amounts than what is made by a trained person can be extremely dangerous, so use with knowledge and caution.
