If you have ever been to the beach chances are you have had blisters. If you have ever had to break in a new pair of shoes chances are you had blisters. Here are a few home remedies for blisters that will bring some relief if you are dealing with blisters.
Home Remedies for Blisters - Oatmeal
Take a half a cup of oatmeal and place onto a cloth that is soaked in with warm water. Place the cloth onto the blister area and hold for a few moments. This aids with the itching and helps to heal. This can be done whenever the itch is felt.
Home Remedies for Blisters - Make a Tent
While most Doctors say to never drain a blister because it allows bacteria to enter into the blister, if the blister is causing pain and pressure it is better to drain it. Simply prick a small hole into the blister and allow to drain naturally (do not push the liquid out). After the blister is completely drained you must leave the skin over the blister as this is how the cells will be able to grow new skin over the blister and allow it to heal. If you need to place a band aid over the blister, remember to make a tent with the band aid. Simply push the band aid together a bit in the shape of a tent and then apply to the skin.
Home Remedies for Blisters - Soaking
Take some warm water and place a bit of Epsom salts into the water and let soak for ten minutes. This helps with the cleaning of the blister of any bacteria and helps to aid in healing as well. It will also give some relief for any itching you may be experiencing on or around the blister.
