Home Remedies for Diaper Rash


Diaper rash is a common irritation on many babies but it can be controlled and even eliminated by using less harsh home remedies for diaper rash. Some techniques you might try to make your baby’s bottom better are:

Home Remedies for Diaper Rash- Vaseline:

Vaseline has been used for years as one of the home remedies for diaper rash. Make sure you wipe the baby’s bottom completely dry before rubbing a thin layer of Vaseline petroleum jelly on the rash area. Repeat at each diaper change.

Home Remedies for Diaper Rash- Cornstarch:

Cornstarch works as one of the home remedies for diaper rash by keeping your baby’s bottom dry. After every bath and diaper change sprinkle a little cornstarch powder onto the diaper rash site.

Home Remedies for Diaper Rash- Air:

This is one of the older home remedies for diaper rash Take the diaper off and let the baby lay on a blanket for as long as you are there to watch them. Or if you don’t have the time, use a blow dryer, always set on low, to gently dry the baby’s skin after baths and diaper changes.

Home Remedies for Diaper Rash- Salt:

Epsom and Sea Salt have been used often in home remedies for diaper rash. Put a 1 to 1 ratio mixture of each in water and dissolve. Sit baby in bath and let soak. Do this once a day.

If you baby is prone to severe diaper rash, consider changing the make of diaper you use. My little boy had the worst rash that wouldn't clear up and I bought a pack of Huggies because that was all we could get on vacation - we used Pampers - and within a week the diaper rash was gone.

I tried taking my babies diaper off when she had a severe rash and letting it air out. I left her diaper off for at least five minutes every time I changed her. It worked well. Thanks
