Cracked heels are not only ugly to look at they can also be quite painful. Although you might see that cracked skin can happen just about anywhere on the body the most frequent place it is found is on the feet, primarily on the heels because that is one of the most used places on the body. Here are a few home remedies for cracked heels that will help get your heels back in shape and make them beautiful along with pain free again.

Home Remedies for Cracked Heels- Shortening or Vegetable Oil

Usually found in almost every kitchen is shortening or vegetable oil. After you thoroughly wash and dry your feet apply a generous amount of shortening or vegetable oil on your feet. Then put on a pair of thick socks and were them overnight. The heat from the socks will help the shortening or vegetable oil soak into your skin. Repeat this process for a few days and then weekly once you have gotten your feet back in shape.

*Extra Tip: Vaseline will also work as a substitute for shortening or vegetable oil.

Home Remedies for Cracked Heels-Banana

Take a ripe banana and apply it to your cracked heels. Gently rub the banana around your feet and leave this on about 10 minutes. Then wash clean and apply lotion. This can be repeated daily as needed.
