Sore throats are cause by many things such as illness, smoking, screaming and several other things. No matter what the cause of your sore throat there are quick and easy home remedies that can help you find relief and help you get rid of your sore throat.
Gargle Raspberry Tea
You can make a great gargle from a raspberry leaf. To do this warm 1 cup of hot water and add 2-3 teaspoons of dried raspberry leaves. Let this mixture steam for 5-7 minutes and then allow to cool. Then just gargle with the raspberry tea. This mixture is also good if you have a fever as it can reduce it.
Eat A Frozen Popsicle Or Juice Bar
For this remedy juice bars are preferred because the juice can offer you vitamin C but a popsicle will do in a pinch. By eating a frozen juice bar you will feel the soothing relief from the coldness. You should never suck on the juice bar though as sucking can irritate your throat and cause more swelling. You can eat these juice bars through out the day for relief.
Gargle With Sage
Although this might not be the tastiest home remedy for a sore throat it is one of the best. Boil a glass of hot water and add 2-3 teaspoons of sage to the water. Allow to sit and cool for 5-7 minutes. Then gargle with the sage mixture until the glass is gone. You can repeat this home remedy often through out the day.
Drink Hot Liquids
If your not crazy about gargling or if your just not good at it don’t worry these is an alternative. By drinking plenty of hot liquids you can also find relief for your sore aching throat. Hot tea is a great liquid to drink. Add a teaspoon of honey and a lemon slice and you will have a great home remedy. The tea will sooth your throat, the lemon will kill the bacteria in your throat and the honey will coat your throat. This is one of the best and tastiest home remedies for getting rid of a sore throat.
The best thing to do for a sore throat along with one of the above remedies is to avoid soda, the carbonation will hurt! You should also avoid any scratchy foods such as chips, popcorn and pretzels. These things can irritate an already painful situation. Remember to take it easy on your throat and don’t rush to eat or drink things that might not feel the best when going down. If your hungry try warm chicken noodle soup, or chicken broth can also be great for a sore throat since it is warm and also offer a nice tasty snack without the scratchiness of other things that might not have such a good ending.
When your sore throat is gone make sure to toss out your toothbrush. Toothbrushes carry germs and bacteria. If you continue to use the same toothbrush you are just asking for another sore throat.

Whenever we kids had a sore throat our grandfather would make hot toddies for us with tea, honey, milk, and a touch of whiskey. It always helped ease the scratchiness.
